INFORMATION

Online Tuition: 13 May to 09 June 2024. Registration deadline: 01 May 2024. Online exam: 19 June 2024 at 6 pm or contact us if you wish a classroom exam date. This 4-week course is divided into 6 modules and delivered via WSET's Digital Classroom with a dedicated WSET Educator for this time. Each module has activities to help students understand the learning content. We highly recommend you log in to the course platform at least once a week and dedicate at least three hours weekly to cover the online activities. Regular access and participation in the activities are essential for this mode of study. In this introductory course to Sake you will gain an overview about: What is Sake, and how is sake made? - The main categories and grades of sake - The making of different styles of sake - The Japanese labelling terms - Speciality styles of sake and their key characteristics - How to store and serve sake - How to combine food and sake - How to taste and describe sake using the WSET Level 1 Sake SAT Upon successful completion, you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin. Please note: Samples are not included in the cost of this course. After enrolling for the course, you will get guidance on what styles to taste. What is included: - Access to WSET's Digital Classroom for one year - Online tutor during the course time - E-book - One examination attempt (either online or in-person) - Certificate and a pin upon successful completion. Entry requirements: No formal qualifications are required. Candidates should be over 18 years of age. Basic computer literacy, internet navigation skills, and good English understanding. Technical Support: For the optimum experience of the Online Classroom, we recommend that you use a computer browser, namely Chrome or Firefox. The Online Classroom does not support Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge. Examination: The exam has 30 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 45 minutes. A mark of 70% is required to pass. To sit your examination online*, you will need a computer or laptop (no tablet) and an additional smart device, such as a smartphone or tablet. *More information will be shared with you once you enroll.
