Registration Deadline: 12 Jan 2024. Online exam: 6 Marth 2024 at 6 pm or consult us for a classroom exam date. Learn how spirits (Whiskey, Vodka, Cognac, Armagnac, Tequila, Rum, Cachaça, among others) are made and how diverse production methods impact their different styles. Develop your tasting skills with the help of the WSET Level Systematic Approach to Tasting®. Also, learn how to use spirits in cocktails. This course offers crucial expertise to anyone working with spirits, but it's also perfect for spirit enthusiasts. This course is based on a 5-week, 6-module online program. Throughout the course, you'll be guided by a WSET Educator who can be contacted at any time. This structure allows the student to work ahead or catch up on the activities and forums. There are no set times to log into the course as there are no live chats or webinars. For the WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits, we recommend allocating 6 hours per week to complete online activities and read the relevant textbook chapters. During your course, you will also be advised to taste a range of spirits. A list of recommended spirits for tasting can be found on the online platform after your registration. You are encouraged to submit your tasting notes in the Online Classroom for review by the educator. Please note: Spirits are not included in the cost of this course and although it will greatly enhance your learning experience, it is not compulsory to taste any spirit. What you will learn: • How to taste, describe and analyse the quality of spirits • Raw materials and production processes to produce spirits • Key characteristics of various types of spirits • Labelling terms of various types of spirits • The common equipments and glassware for serving spirits and cocktails • What to consider when making a balanced cocktail ➨ Entry requirements: minimum age 18. Computer literacy. ➨ Technical requirements For the optimum experience of the Online Classroom, we recommend that you use a computer browser, namely Chrome or Firefox. The Online Classroom does not support Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge.
